{quirky} girl

cassie kinda/sorta tagged me with this, as in, she stated "anyone who is having a blog slump like myself." i thought i'd play:

rules:
1. link to the person that tagged you {cardigans cover crazy}
2. post the rules on your blog
3. share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself
4. tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs
5. let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website

  1. i'm a very picky eater. very. i eat very few things; no vegetables- whatsoever, nothing green (unless its a grape); very few fruits- no melon! i am terrified of ketchup. the only condiment allowed in the same room as me is BBQ sauce. i must over cook all meat because i'm convinced if i don't i'll actually be able to TASTE the cow/chicken. i don't like potato chips.
  2. i'm very weird about textures. if i accidently touch a texture that feels "wrong" i have to rub my hands on an acceptable texture.
  3. i use hand sanitizer every time i walk past the bottle.
  4. i have to take a sleeping pill to fall asleep every night. i didn't have to do this before my husband became a cop, but now his schedule changes every four weeks so i can never have a set "routine" so my body can never calm down enough to sleep.
  5. the house i grew up in is haunted. we named the "ghost" TK (which stands for tim-kenny; as in mcgraw & chesney)
  6. i'm a scrapbooking fiend.

i tag....the same people cassie tagged!

barack obama {induced} paper cuts

i just got a {hellacious} paper cut from one of the 7 million (how ironic, thats how much he spent to air all those infomericals tonight!) hope blah blah blah, change blah blah blah, i'm a socialist in disguise, blah blah blah flyers that come in my mailbox everyday.

uninformed {obama} supporters

never underestimate {the powers} of justification

last night, the husband and i set out to wal-mart for butter, photo splits, and band-aids.

we ended up going to michales, big lots (we have one now, ohemgeeee!), and then, finally, wal-mart and ended up with:

  • two pads of scrapbooking paper
  • sticker maker refills
  • 3 packs of scrapbooking stickers
  • psycho II
  • pshyco III
  • save the last dance
  • 2 photo storage boxes
  • super duper conditioning cream
  • various other HBA products (for my girly-man husband)
  • butter, photo splits, & band-aids

how does that happen? i go out, planning to spend $10, and always spend 10x that much!

i have no shopping restraint.

i'll attempt justifying....i really DID need scrapbook paper, because i was down to only seasonal. justified, check! i really did need sticker maker refills, because...its always good to have a back up! justified, check! the scrapbooking stickers were a must have as well, because you can never have too many letter stickers because you're constantly missing an 'a' or an 'e'. justified, check! pshyco II and pshycho III were absolutely necessary as well, because i'm going to be all alone on halloween as all of the police officers (like, y'know, the husband) are being called in as reinforcements in town, so i must have something to watch in all my loneliness. justified, check! i was thinking about save the last dance the other day, then saw it in the $5 bin, and well, thats kinda like destiny, or fate, or something, right? justified, check! & the photo storage boxes....well, i have photos that aren't stored. justified, check! and i needed the super duper conditioning cream because being properly conditioned is always important, plus, it was on CLEARANCE. justified, check! and, well, i guess the HBA products for my girly-man husband can be justified simply by defnining him as a girly-man. justified, check!

never underestimate the powers of justification!

the {american people} will never vote for socialism

but, under the name of liberalism, the american people will adopt every fragment of socialism."
--norman thomas, six time candidate for american president under the socialst party ticket

swap the {a for an e} dummy

so, i've realized these things this weekend:

  • it drives me nuts when people spell stephenie meyer's name "stephanie"
  • my dog thinks she's a cat
  • thanksgiving is just a little over a month away! how did that happen?!
  • since thanksgiving is only a month away, that means their is less than a month until our annual girls weekend at the lake! (and just a little over a month until black friday, dun dun dun!)
  • since i no longer have in-laws, christmas will be half of the expense as usual!
  • when left to my own devices (and turning my phone on silent) i can sleep....forever.

this weekend was definitely nice & rejuvenating.

anyone want to suggest some good blog reads for me??

preparedness is the {key}

another weekend alone, as my husband is working 3 nineteen hour days in a row. again. he's gone before i wake up and gets home after i fall asleep. but, i'm getting used to this! i must have many activities to keep me busy, and have a full day prepared, including:

  • season 1 of ghost whisperer
  • scrapbooking (may through august!)
  • getting even more lost in the time travler's wife
  • taking the puppy on a walk
  • watching the kiddos tonight so their parents can have a date night.

wheeee! at least i'm prepared.

moron {moron} moron

ashley todd, you are a moron.

what a great thing to do, and make us DECENT right wingers look moronic, with only a few days left until voting day.

if mccain loses, i'm blaming it all on you.

(and bill ayers, just TALK already. get your fucking feet off the american flag. & obama, say the damned pledge of the country you want to be president of so bad.)

obligatory {first} post

everything has to have a first. i, personally, suck at all things "first". so, here's the obligatory first post. i blog elsewhere, but have had a few friends migrate over here, so i thought i'd flock too. i like the layout here better, and it seems a bit more "big girl". so, here i am.

but, before i go, i thought i'd leave this tasty little link from one of my favorite blogs, the daily conservative: socialism doesn't work.
